I've just noticed that one of my lemon tetras has what appears to be a blocked nostril. It seems to have some sort of fuzzy growth coming out of one of it's nostrils - I think it might be a little red and inflamed but it's hard to tell. The fish doesn't seem to be unhappy - it is still swimming around etc...
None of the other fish in the tank are showing any symptoms of anything and I've never seen anything like this before, and I can't find anything hat looks the same on the net. If anyone has any information on what his might be I'd be very grateful.
ps i shall be visiting my lfs tomorrow, unfortunately it's too late tonight

I had a fish get that once, was bad news...I am no expert, but does it look anything like what is in this article?
I am sure someone with more knowledge will answer too, but my fish got this and died within a day. That night he had just a tiny spot by his lip, by the morning was covered! The fluff grew so fast I didn't even have time to go to the store. Hope this is not what you have!

Thanks, but fortunately it doesn't look like that (yet ) It seems to be a bit redder in colour, it looks kind of spongier and it's only in one nostril still. The area around it looks a little inflamed but it doesn't seem to have grown since my last post.
(lol "spellchecker"... can't spell "colour" correctly can it?!)
