I'm trying to pick out some bio media for my AC and I don't want to go with AC's standard ceramic noodles. I was digging through the DIY archives and found a great thread back in Sept.'s posts btwn mainly Sully and g3H2O about retrofitting an AC where Sully recommends either Bio-Balls, Bio-Stars, lava or whatever's handy that works. My LFS has two kinds available, Bio-Chem stars by Rena and Pentair Biomate Solid balls.

So I'm wondering if anybody knows...which works better, Bio-stars or Bio-balls?
