Here is the description of Big Al's:

"Big Al's, ‘The Aquatic Mail Order Specialist’, was originally launched as a division of Aquarium Services Ltd., Canada's largest aquarium retail chain.

In business since 1975, Aquarium Services Ltd. has grown from a small service company to a chain of 20 stores across US and Canada."

So, does anyone know the actual physical location of at least the warehouse? Is it in the USA or Canada?

I am curious because it has been 4 days since my first order was shipped (e-mail confirmation) and it still hasn't arrived. Where I live, I generally receive anything shipped within 3 days, unless it comes from the West Coast (or Canada). . .

Hmm. OK. Florida to Tennessee is a 2-3 day max shipping distance . . at least via UPS and FedEx.

I'm sure my stuff will get here - maybe today. Just getting excited/impatient!

Hey just login to your account, then check the previous orders and inside each order is a tracking number. The usually send a ship confirmation too via email.

Haha!

I checked online using the UPS tracking number link and found out that they delivered my first order today, about an hour ago.

It will be waiting on me! Woo hoo!

I've never received a shipment from Florida, all came from Canada. And I've never had an order take one day less (or more) than 5 business days, exactly one calendar week.

At least when I was paying attention...

On the invoice that was inside the box, the Canada address was listed.

However, the return address on the shipping label on the outside of the box listed Niagara Falls, NY. You called it, flyingfish!

And I'm so excited to get some of my equipment!

Their is a huge Big al's warehouse just outside of Toronto, Ontario (Near the hw400 and hw7) I could be wrong but I beleive its there main one. maybe everything comes from their?

Also, I think their warehouses they have in Florida are Fish farms. I know big als is big for mail and online ordering but they do have a few very larger stores that sell fish. There is one in Toronto that is the biggest fish store I have ever been in. :-)

we are fortunate to have a Big Al's retail location in Calgary. prices are great for dry goods etc., but fish prices are a bit on the high side compared to the smaller shops. my biggest complaint is their staff, never much help and hardly ever around when you need someone. they should stick to warehousing and on line sales in my opinion!

Humm I must say its the complete opisite here. There is only 2 big al stores that I know of and I have been to both a bunch of times. I must say that the fish are probley the best kept I have ever seen for a pet store. The one near me has around 200 tanks I would guess , all much larger then the ones I have seen at any other pets store that sells fish. There is a few that are crowed , but for a pet store they seam to atleast try to keep it to a reasonable number. not craming as many as they can in like Pets mart or something. Also there is normaly a tank or two that will have a sign up like "Being medicated Not for sale" or "New Arivals, Not for Sale" Also all the tanks seam clean and actualy have plants and decoration in most of them.

As for the staff , they will normaly ask you a question on two like what size is your tank , and you know these fish are aggressive. Witch is a start , but in my exspeance if you ask them anything they seam to have a good and correct answer. Way more knolege then I have ever got anywhere else.

As for fish prices , I wouldn't really say there higher or lower then any others, they have their sales and some things are always low priced like plecos for some reason , and other are a little more exspensive like there tertas.

As you can tell i'm a big fan of their store. I guess the one near me must have a manager that really cares or something :-)
