Hi guys, just about to order a new light for my 10g.
But i don't know which of these to choose?
http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12_115&pr oducts_id=395
Or
http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=12_115&pr oducts_id=398

The bulb is 16inches long and the starter is 2 inches. 18 inches is the length of the tank's hood lol, so i'm going to have to bend/cut it. Only a cheap hood anyway, but which would you guys go for? The tank has riccia and java moss.

Thanks.

Those bulb descriptions do not give any info about the specific characteristics of the light.

I did a search for more info on this company and the bulbs. Since Interpet Aquarium Products L.L.C. is a private company (USA-based) I cannot find a website.

Either bulb seems like it would work, but I cannot find details about which spectrums are produced by each bulb. The Daylight bulb appears to be brighter than the TriPlus, but that's all I can tell.

From the product descriptions, I would guess that the Daylight bulb is better suited to saltwater tanks and the TriPlus for freshwater . . .

Hannah, you`re retrofitting the hood?

I`d drop Richard an email and talk directly with him. There`s no mention of the K rating.

Nope. But he`s a sponsor on few message boards and is always very helpful. I`ve had a few discussions with him about his products but that`s it.
