Happiness is...

Looking into your endlers tank and finding 4 new fry.

Looking into the same endlers tank and seeing that one of your 2 month old endlers is starting to mature into a male. The dark colors come through first on the body.

Finding baby cherry shrimp.

Finding apple snail clutches on the tank hood.

Finding a mysterious fry in your 29 gallon tank. Could be a featherfin, otto, pygmy cory, or Kuhli loach (only fish in the tank). If it is one of those my bet is the featherfin because it stays up high in the tank. Or it could have hitch hiked in on some new plants I got.

Plants that you did not think would thrive in your tank growing like crazy.

Seeing both of your rubber lip plecos out at the same time. This hasn't happened in so long I thought one of them had died.

Having an LFS that you trust.

Your angels taking blood worms from your hand for the first time.

Having a place like Badmans to say all of this and not being thought of as being totally off my rocker. Thanks Pat.
The following statement is true. The previous statement was false.

WOW what an exciting day!!

My snails are almost big enough to start laying (I think) so I have been checking my hood every morning.
I have hybird endlers that my gups keep spitting out, the LFS actually takes them (but not my gups) So I have started just keeping a few endler looking males, to breed with. They are very exotic looking.

As for your cherries, are you going to be selling any off???

April, if your "guppies" keep releasing hybrid Endler fry, I assume you have female guppies with male Endler's? Why keep "Endler looking males" to breed with your female guppies?

Just out of curiosity, why breed hybrids at all? Why not just breed Endler's, and give the LFS what they want?

Actually I have guppies that keep popping out endlers

I don't want to keep any of them really, but have decided to allow the "originals" to live their lives with me. All the fry they produce I give to the LFS since now that they are seperated the amount of fry is substainially less, and more are eaten by my ladies.
Once they are all passed on, I don't plan on keeping gups again until i have fish that need/want feeders.

I'm still not sure I understand...they aren't really hybrids? Just guppies that breed with guppies to produce guppy fry you think resemble Endler's?
If that is the case, and those are the ones you are talking about, IMO they look like snakeskins to me, not the least Endler-ish. Endler's
Still pretty, though, way too pretty for feeders.

Mr. B, it has been a lot of intense hours and critical deadlines for the past 3 months. Today the happiness began. Getting fat checks in from the clients--and my work load is tapering off to a 40-50 hour week. And, i am going to find someplace to go (maybe--depends on a doc or two).

Awesome Michael, That is one heck of a good day!

April have you sen those guppy/endler crosses called California Tigers? Very pretty, the lfs are selling them left and right but naturally they are not eligible for BAPS.
