I saw some beautiful fish at Aquatic Critter this weekend. It was called "Rainbow Goby" on the sign on the tank, but, after looking up the scientific name (which was also on the tank), the true common name is Peacock Gudgeon.

I have GOT to have some of these for my new tank!

a wonderful fish, not commonly available in the hobby ... great find. note that everything i've read suggests that they don't relish typical fish food (flakes, pellets) and will only eat live foods such as microworms. if you have any luck feeding them flakes, let us know.

I had asked Shari to see if they had any at her Meeting Sunday night. Sadly they didn't. As Dan said, they are hard to find.

There is 1 man that sells them on Aquabid if you're willing to pay his price! His auctions are under the ALL OTHERS in the live fish catagory. http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi?fw&1145233790

One day I'm going to break down and buy them!
Amazingly, It's not just fish!!

They are currently $12.99 each at Aquatic Critter (Nashville, TN).

They have about 12 of them currently. At least two are gonna be mine (1) as soon as I feel my tank is safe for them and (2) there are still some available when I want to add them.

They have another variety, too. Same size, just a little different coloration. I think they are going for about $24 each!

$40 doesn't seem too high for the 6 juvies at the auction site. Even with $32 shipping, the total cost is only $12 per fish, cheaper than what I'll pay at the LFS when I add on sales tax . . .
