Hi. Hopefully you find this here. I considered posting in the plant section, but here goes...

I can't find nerites locally. Does your LFS still sell them? If so, can I trouble you to ship some to SK for me?

(psssst...Christine....unless there is a plant by that name that I am unaware of, nerites are "Other Aquatic Pets", so you did good!)

I can get zebra or zigzag nerites locally. Occasionally a few ruby`s when they get mixed in. I could defenately spare a few of my greens though. Let me know what you want, and I`ll set it up.

Oh, I just remembered. www.aquaticplants.com just opened a facility in Winnipeg. I`m not sure if they have any, but it may be worth checking out.

Keep me posted.

I couldn't find anything about Winnipeg in that link. They may not be up and running yet, but that's good news for us prairie folk.

It'd be great to get both olives and zebras. I'm thinking 2 of each.

First, can you confirm that neither of them harm plants?

Second, are you willing to send a heat pack with them? Just include it in the total price. Let me know how much I owe ya and what form of payment you would like.

pssst... got any extra fancy plant clippings? I'll buy those from ya too if you want to get rid of some... just a thought.

Thank-you muchly for your help, Brad :-)

They`ll crawl all over your plants picking at algae and not harm your plants in any way. I`ve got 3 in my 15g, 4 in my 20g, and about 8-12 in my 33g.

I`ll check shipping and get back to you. Heat packs are cheap as heck but I`ll have to get my hands on them.

I`ll ship them in a damp paper towel and maybe a bag? Anyone know the best way to ship them?

I`ve got a bunch of plants coming from Singapore hopefully this week. I`ll see what he sent me. I`ve got an E. Bleheri looking for a good home.

Do they ship well? If not, it might be worthwhile for me to get a couple extra.

I'd love to take the E. Bleheri. I had three quite awhile back that outgrew my then smaller tanks. I now have room for one again. Add whatever you want for it to the final price. (I guess it would need a heat pack too.)

Thanks again for your time:-)

I`ll check how many zebras I have. The olives are free. I have too many anyhow. I`ll send a few extra. The Bleheri was gonna go in the pond this summer and not come back out in the fall so...... I also know I have a Cyperus Helferi coming that I don`t want. I toss a ton of hygro. polysperma every week.......

I have a friend who runs a mail order fish business so I`ll see if he`ll 'lend' me a heat pack. The shipping is the only thing I`m not sure of.

Cyperus Helferi - difficult to grow. I guess its worth a shot though. I can always use more hygro. Keep the sword if you have plans for it. Doesn't matter either way... :-)

Brad...I feel sortof guilty jumping on the bandwagon here, but the kids and I have been hunting nerites (the non-antlered ones at least) for a while. Any chance you'd be willing to sell me some zebras and olives too?

Christine, the cyperus got confiscated at the border so that`s a no go. I was just gonna dump the sword in the pond `cause I had nowhere else to put it. It`s all yours.

Jeff, sometime this week, I`ll do inventory of how many snails I have. Worst case scenario, I can always get the zebras at my LFS. I know I have too many olives but I want to know just how many I have before I start promising them to anyone. I`ll check though and get back to you. If I have enough, you`re more than welcome on this bandwagon :-)

I just saw you were in Canada (somehow I missed that in the posts above, I just saw Nerites and went into tunnel vision)...would that complicate the transmission of them to the US? I wouldn't want to be responsible for getting you in trouble with the Mounties.

Depends where you are. It shouldn`t caue any problems with the border but shipping to the west coast may not be worthwhile. Then again, they were shipped to me from San Fran so what the heck.

I'm off Route 80, in a town called Rockaway. If you were in Horse country it could have been Sussex County (extreme NW NJ) or if it was the hoitey toitey horses who run around tracks making lots of money then it would have been Colts Neck, which is central NJ.

Christine, the good news, I found the heat packs. 70 hour ones too so the shipping will be much more resonable. However, he`s gone to a convention or something on Saturday so I can`t go pick them up. I`ve got a friend going in to see him soon though so I sent her an eamil asking if she could bring them back for me. It shouldn`t take long.

Christine, I lost your email. I don`t know how, but I did. I just wanted to give you a little update as I think you asked me for cherry shrimp too. If you didn`t, stop reading now as the rest will be a waste of time.

I went and picked them up at the guys place on Saturday. I wasn`t happy with them at all. The colours were really drab, the tank was dirty....the list goes on.

I took 12 just the same to try out, thinking maybe they`d colour up once I got them into a proper tank. I now have 3 left. They seem to have a little colour but aren`t eating, and don`t swim off if I put my hand close to them. I really don`t think they`re going to live.

I doubt very much that they would make the trip to you. They aren`t great shrimp to begin with, and I think the shipping would be too much for them to handle.

On a brighter note, heat packs are being shipped to me, so I should send out your snails asap.
