Has anyone here mixed different shell dwellers together? I'm setting up for my future (soon to arrive) Lamp. ocellatus's and not sure if I can mix them with Multie's or not.

Others here have done it, hopefully they'll be along soon. I haven't even had good luck with more than one breeding pair per tank, they won't eat their own fry but don't seem to have any morals against eating someone else's.

I guess it depends more on whether you want them to live that way or to breed - successfully - that way. I don't think you can ever do better with communities of any type than with giving a pair their privacy, if raising fry is the ultimate goal.

Ultimate Goal= Breeding

I can have them in separate tanks, but hey, if they'll breed and do fine in the same tank together, I'd rather set that up! More space for me to add more fish etc. LOL

Cindy, you start shipping fish yet?

debbs, have you ever checked out this site?

www.shelldwellers.com

I've skimmed through it a few times but haven't spent long enough to know if your answer would be there. :-)

roflmao Thanks Kim! First post I read was:

Well, everyone join in. What's a good tip you have about shelldwellers that you wish you'd had when you started?

-Don't mix shelldweller species in a tank

I'm going to have fun reading this site, thanks!!
