I picked up a pair of Apisto. steindachneri at the Auction last night. Suppose to be one of the biggest of the Apistos. Here's a link to some images...

They're one of the bigger apistos. I'd defenately keep them in a 20GL or larger.

They seem to take on the Agasizzi way of life in that even when all conditions are perfect, they simply won't breed. Then, for no reason at all, they do. I friend of mine waited 18 months for a spawn.

They're a white water apisto and therefore a ph at or below 7 and dh at or below 10 degrees should be fine.

A nice fish. You'll enjoy them.

EDIT: NON-Internet stuff? Hmmmm, they look best with a dark substrate. Pics will never do them justice. I don't think this apisto will ever be very popular in LFS. They're already not the most colourful apisto and in stock tank conditions, they certainly won't catch anyone's eye. Once in a good home though, they'll be much more showy.
