Anyone heard of a marine plant called pine tree plant and sea pansies? All my resources do not list these. Pine tree looks similar to a shaving brush, while sea pansies kinda look like mermaids fans.

Without pics, I couldn't say for sure, but here are a few links to pics that I think could be what you're talking about...

Halimeda- http://www.floridacollector.com/halimeda.htm
Udotea- http://www.floridacollector.com/udotea.htm
Or possibly a caulerpa species- http://www.floridacollector.com/crassifolia.htm

Udotea looks similar to my fans, but i dont believe thats what they are. Possibly a subspecies. Nothing like the pine tree though. Looks alot like a shaving brush, but intsead of stiff bristles, has broader, semi rigid leaf like structures.

You know, it's killing me that I can't think of the name of that 'pine tree' plant. I used to have some when I was keeping seahorses. However, I can not find the site I ordered them from, nor can I find another place wih info on them. I'll keep looking though

Man, when you said shaving brush, it should have hit me, since it seems that's the common name that many places have given it. Here are a couple places that are selling it that also give a little bit of info on it...

When I was keeping them, they did relatively well under medium light (3 watts/gallon power compact). However, I had an algae problem, due to the lack of water circulation, since it was a seahorse tank, and they were over taken by the algae.

Hopefully this is the plant you're refering too, otherwise I'm completely stumped.
