I captured one of these wild, and would like some info from anyone has has kept them. I read that they are endangered. Does that mean that I should not keep them? He/She is in a 55g right now. I will release him if I can't find enough info or a food source in a few days.

If you have a positive ID from an experienced person, release it.

Most of the minnows and darters are so similar they are difficult to positively ID. In the absence of an expert opinion, I would not assume it is a rare fish, it is more likely to be one of the common species.
