There is no simple rule for growth rates, in the wild or in captivity. Growth rate is affected by diet, water temp, levels of nitrogenous wastes, DOC's, etc.

Only you have control over those things.

If you do things right, it should be 5-6 inches SL in a year. If you don't do things right, you could stunt it and it won't grow very much, or could even be dead.
