My parents want to get a coldwater tank and were wondering on what fish would be good. I suggested whiteclouds, but I'm wondering what the # per gallon rule for a speices tank of them?

Man Shawn, this thread really isn`t getting much attention.

Alright, what size tank do your parents have? Do they know about regular water changes and the nitrogen cycle?

Unless you want native fish, your choices are limited. There aren't many coldwater fish in your LFS. The only ones I can think of offhand are common/comet GF, rosies, WCMM, dojo loaches, and hillstream loaches.

Edit: Google lists more:

IMO I'd go with white clouds because i think they are prettier than guppys and other fish. according to cindy's link their colors fade with cooler temp. but in a book i have they say warmer water fades their colors. I think you could maybe keep 6 or 7 in a 10 gallon tank tops. You would'nt be able to keep any other fish in there with that number of fish.
