I found your site while surfing the net trying to find out what these fish are. I found them in a drainage ditch in my neighborhood. I caught about 20 of them and put them in my tank, but there is hundreds in the ditch. The thing that really got my attention was the bright stripes down their back. Photo 1 shows their color but the strips I mention almost never shows up with a flash, photo 2 is without the flash, but it's blurred and the best one I've taken that shows the strips well.. Photo 3 is with them along with some jumbo neon's for size/scale reference. I also should mention, the strips are not always there. When I first caught them none of them had strips and I thought I had caught the wrong ones. The next day the strips were there. Also, the stripes can change color. Normally they are white/silver, but this weekend, and only one of the fish were this way, the strips were blue.
If you could help me find out what these are I'd really appreciate it. Several days of searching the net has turned up zilch!
