Hey guys, I have a 30 gallon, but my snail seemed to procreate.
I have live plants and i didnt mind them at first, but as
they get a little bigger (still the size of a pea),
they are kinda hurtin the plants.
I have room in my tank for more fish, so is there ANY fish
that enjoys snacking of little snails. I am starting to
see even smaller ones too. I have 2 white skirts, 2 female
swordtails, 2 tetras (dont know what kind since i got
them before i really was interested in fish), 1 cory,2
ottos, and a blue gourami.
They all get along great! So is there any advice?

Loaches! THEY LOVE SNAILS plus they are cool fish! (2
in 1!) Try a clown loach or a kuhli loach. if you want
iwill take some off your hands. we can do a shipment deal.
Any thing you want? (money??) i really need snails
for my indoor pond. (ive had 3 now for a month. They
WONT breed. Odd...

I don't know that kuhli loaches eat snails. I've
never observed it myself, but could be wrong.
Clown loaches work well, skunk loaches are about the best
(but also very mean), and there are a few other
types that I've had luck with such as lohachata loaches,
Bengal Loaches, and I think tiger loaches. Remember, loaches
are also called Botiaa on some occasion, as Botia is their
correct scientific name.
As for your snails, Guineapig, I'd ask the people at
you LFS the next time you stop by. We just give 'em
away where I work, and most stores are more than happy to
get rid of a few...dozen. Just make sure you get the small
snails that come in on plants, and you'll have hundreds
before too long.

A little off topic here, but I used to work with a contract
programmer and her husband from Regina! I think her daughter
still lives there. Wow can't believe your LFS doesn't
have snails in there tanks. Last time I bought some oto
the LFS tried to give me two free ones in the bottom of
the bag with the gravel!
