I've heard that plecos really like zucchini/courgettes.
What do you do to them?

For plecos I take a plant wire and put a slice of zucchini
in at lights out. This way it stays on the bottom and doesn't
float around. My mbuna love romaine lettuce which I feed
on a veggie clip. They run around the tank like little dogs
with pieces of lettuce in their mouths!

I've used zucchini before, and really do nothing to
it except make sure its clean (rinse it under the faucet)
and cut it up. I generally take a rubber band or two and
attach it to a rock or piece of driftwood, and let my fish
have at it. It generally doesn't last more than a day
or so.
If its in the tank any more than a couple of days, be sure
to take it out. Three days seems to be the magic amount
of time it takes the zucchini to get mushy, start falling
apart, and make the tank water cloudy white...at least that's
what happens where I work if someone neglects to remove
a piece in time.

I gave him some and he really enjoyed it. He was really
attacking it. Didn't quite get the dog behaviour though. How
often do you think you should feed it. He also gets algae
wafers.

I would feed maybe once or twice per week and I wouldn't
feed both algae wafers and zuchinni at the same time. Don't
want him to pig out! If I feed my mbuna a piece of lettuce
I skip one of the flake feedings.
