Needle nose gar
I have 2 needle nose gars in a 30 gallon hex they are the same size
and bought them when they were in the same tank I have been watching
them and they are always right next to each other but last night I
saw they were fighting crazy biting at each other I tapped on the
glass and they stopped then started with in seconds then I tapped
on the glass again and they stopped and haven't done it again I was
just wondering should I put one I a second tank or is that normal
once in a while I have been watching them and they are still right
on top of each other and haven't fought again thanks
- From a web search... Appropriate Home. An aquarium with at least
50 gallons of water, an exterior power filter with a bio-wheel, a
maximum of 1/4 inch of gravel, an aquarium heater adjusted to keep
the water between 78 and 82 degrees F., and at least 1 Tablespoon
of aquarium salt per each 5 gallons of aquarium water. Recommended
Diet. Small fish the size of guppies Compatibility. A Silver Needle
Nose is best kept in a group of three or more Silver Needle Noses.
They can be kept with most fish that are too big for a Needle Nose
to swallow. My guess is your tank is too small for these fish as they
grow and age they are getting territorial
- try changing around the plants and decorations in your tank. If
they are trying to establish territory then this will confuse them
and they will stop. At least it works with dempsys and other territorial
fish that I know of.
