- Jack; He is a 5yr old Cichlasoma Octofasciatum..He is aprox:10in
long and has not missed a meal if you know what I mean.He loves to
snack on ghost shrimp. He has a great personality. Jack is the peace
keeper of the tank. Jack is a little spoiled he loves to eat right
out of your hand. He is also the weather fish as his colors change
with the change in weather.
- Stripe; He is a 5yr old Pseudetropheus Zebra. He is aprox 5in long
slim and trim. He keeps his figure by tormenting everyone else, He
is bright yellow, his name came from the stripes he had as a small
fry long since gone now. He keeps everyone on their tail fins..He
and Jack go into mouth to mouth combat almost daily. Some times he
finds himself "caught" in distress luckily Jack always lets him go.
Does make for funny entertainment. (They never hurt one another) They
grew up like brothers. He also likes to bite your fingers and will
not release until he reaches the top. He is very adamant about how
you decorate his home and will fix what you do incorrectly.
- Herman; He is a 5yr old Pterygoplichthys. Aprox. 12in very sweet.
Has a beautiful color pattern. HE loves sea algae. Snout; He is a
2 yr old Haplochromis Compressiceps. He is aprox. 11in long and very
shy. He loves to snack on little rosies. From time to time you can
catch he and Stripe at a game of chase. His eating habits are most
interesting to watch. He is as smooth as an alligator and quick as
a whip. He was a very plain fry but as he ages his colors are just
beautiful. He and my Collie have the same long slender nose. He really
is a handsome guy.
- Patsy & Tangerine; Solid Johanni. They are New to the home. Aprox
2in long. Seem to be happy. Colors are pretty. It's funny to se them
up against the big fish you forget haw small they start out. They
are almost as big as Jack anal fin. The big guys seem to like them.
(in a nice way, not as food) Patsy is blue and Tang is orange. Blue
Devil & Blue Angel; They are new to our home also, both aprox 2in.
Melanochromis parallelus & a Johanni. They are very active fish. The
colors are very vibrant. Can't wait to see how beautiful they will
grow.
- Ghost shrimp; It just depends on the quickness of them as to how
many are in the tank on any given day. At the time of the pic. 1 out
of 60 was all that was left.
They live in a 55 gallon tank located in a beauty shop. Here they get
all the attention thy can stand. All the ladies love them and talk to
them. Both Fish and Clients are very social. The clients have helped me
over the years decorate their home with some great rocks and petrified
wood. From Africa to Hawaii to Austin and their own back yard ect. They
have a mix of substrate, the tank is over 6 years old has been every set
up so the mix has built over the years. We have an underground filter
powered by an Aqua-Tech power head. Also we have a double back drop filter.
I also have 2 bubble stones in there for deco. The guys seem to use the
bubbles like a whirlpool. They love the bubbles. I also have in excess
of 50lbs of large rocks and petr. wood. Jack sports a lawn mower tire
in his part of the home. This is a great group of fish. It is amazing
how attached you cam get to them. After all 6yrs is a long time. My children
have grown up with them. The fish have watched them go from pigtails to
prom dresses. Jack, Stripe, and Herman are older than our dogs. I'm a
dog lover but a fish is the greatest pet a person could ever have. All
the personality, comfort, loyalty and love with out the hassles of other
pets. I hope you enjoy my fish. Here are 4 pictures. If you would like
to see more go to
Jacks Fish House & Fish. Enjoy! I really enjoy seeing other fish homes
I hope they enjoy theirs as much as we do ours. Thanks...Kimberly |
