Saltwater fish selection is good...although I'd never buy
anything from them. The fish are ALWAYS sick and everything is
significantly overpriced compared to other pet stores. The owner is very full of
himself and his opinions are "fact."

I visited the store for the first time on the Date of Visit above... The
first thing I noticed was the fairly strong selection of fish they had.
I am a big fan of Plecos and Oscars, so those tanks attracted me first.
The young Oscars seemed in good condition, but around eight lived in a small
10-15 gallon tank with high filtration. They also looked a little sunken
in the belly. On the other hand, the old Oscars (2) had VERY, VERY severe
cases of hole-in-head disease, they even had "holes" around their gills.
Very sad. Next I checked the Plecos. They all seemed in pretty good condition
(they are quite hardy after all), except for two whiptails. One was supposedly
a whiptail, but I personally believe it was a different breed that was sent
to them in a switch-up. It seemed to labor for breath. And one whiptail
had its long tail broken at a 90 degree angle upward. The store was clean
and had many fish supplies, including filters, heaters, tanks, decoration,
etc... The staff seemed almost snooty when I asked if they knew much about
a particular fish. The response was "all the employees know a lot about
all of the fish". When I asked for information on the Pseudo Zebra, I looked
it up online later to find his information slightly off. Also, they handle
the fish roughly out of the tanks by quickly pouring all the water into
a bag, then when twisting the bag they spin the whole thing (including the
poor fish) rather than just the top of the bag. While the conditions, in
my opinion, were pretty cramped and poor, it was definitely much better
than what you might see at a local WalMart (which isn't saying much). Their
fish selection included and was DEFINITELY NOT limited to:
- Gold Nugget Pleco
- Pseudo Zebra Pleco
- Bristlenose Catfish
- Discus
- Yellow Oscar
- Tiger Oscar
- Red Oscar
- Goldfish (many varieties)
- Common Pleco
- Whiptail Catfish
- Bala Shark
- Glass Perch
And many, many more... including salt-water breeds...
