This is one of the best stores in Jacksonville NC The Staff knows there stuff and the manager will get you any thing you need. It is clean and the prices are the lowest in the area. I go there for ALL my saltwater needs.

The owner of the fish cave is a friendly person who cares about his fish. Mike has better prices and service than the chain outlets and will go to any lengths to please his customers. His prices are lower than anyone in the area.

- Lots of improvement in store personal. More knowledgable than some other stores.
- 0n 10/09/04, I sighted rat droppings and rats running around on the floor between the aisles. The manager admitted he had "an issue" with rats, which had been going on since some remodeling work. He said a pest company comes out twice a week. I pointed out the rat feces on the shelf, but he said he was doing all he could. I saw this rat on Saturday afternoon - wonder what goes on in the store at night, don't you?

They do have a large variety of fish but the staff doesn't seem to know too much about fish and the care of them. The tanks don't look clean, lots of dead fish in the tanks.

I've been a customer of Aquamains for many years. They have one of the largest selections of fish (including freshwater, saltwater, plants, corals) and products in this area. The staff is always very friendly and willing to answer any questions that I have. There is a really cool indoor pond and lots of display tanks filled with hard to find fish. I have always enjoyed shopping at Aquamains!

I was told to go here from alot of people and was in udder disgust with this place. As a fish keeper for 15 yrs, I found this place to be very poor on fish health and lack of knowledge on the staff. And their prices were outrageous! I have since been told to go to The Aquarium Center of NC in Kernersville. Beware of Aquamains!

I visited this pet store about 5 years ago. I went into the store and it smelled horrible. The cages of the animals were disgusting. No clean water, no clean bedding, no clean food. Terrible conditions. I gave the store the benefit of the doubt thinking I just caught them on a bad day so I revisited the store. Again saw the same deplorable conditions. I visited the store many times just to check things out and saw the same terrible conditions. Do not shop here, their animals are sick and unhealthy.

This store was a complete turn around from Aquamains. All I got to say is WoW! They were a bit small, but they made up with it by a staff that was very knowledgeable and prices that were extremely competitive with online prices. Their selection of coral was astounding! Was very pleased with what I saw and will now go here for all my needs and concerns. Five Gold Stars!

Aquarium Center is the only fish store that I go to. I have been to the other fish stores in the triad area of NC, but I always felt that the other stores are there to just sell their products, even though they are not the right products for you. If you are a hobbyist you know it is very expensive to get into this hobby. I would walk out of these stores and feel like I spent a fortune. Then I would find out later that I really did not need the items that I had just bought, but the person at the fish store said "you really need this." At Aquarium Center I have had the employees tell me that the fish that I wanted was not the right fish for my tank, or if my fish got sick they wouldn't have me spend more money on equipment to try and save a fish that really could not have been saved from the beginning. I guess what I am trying to say is that Aquarium Center has honest people that are not trying to take your money, but are there to educate you into being a better hobbyist.

The Aquarium Center of NC carries a large selection of African cichlids, Tropical, and Saltwater fish, and supplies for each. The staff is very helpful, and knowledgeable. A great fish store! You gotta go there if you are into fish!

Small Pet Shop in Lexington, NC. Very nice and extremely helpful Staff. The owner just open up the store in an Old building last April and is trying his best to move to a better site. The day I was in there, he had customers drive as far as Charlotte, Mt Airy and the Kings Mountain to shop here. I was very impressed by talking with those customers why they travel so far to get to a pet store. They all said the owner and staff are the best and caring about what they sell and do. The have freshwater, saltwater, corals, small animals, hand fed birds, reptiles, etc. They will take the time you need to help you set up your animal or fish tank in the correct order. You can call them any time to ask questions, the owner has offered to come out to help customers with their fish tanks in setting up and moving, etc. I have never been in a store that seems so passionate about the stuff they sell. I am impressed on how the owner is trying his best to keep the store running when the economy is BAD in Davidson County. I hope that Sky To Sea never closes, they are worth the drive and have low prices and excellent quality of items they sell. HIGHLY recommend this store.

Large selection of Salt Water and Tropical fish and supplies. Tanks and accessories galore. But best of all was fast friendly service. Was greeted with a HELLO from the moment I walked in the door and a how can I help you. They let me browse freely yet were right there to answer my questions. A polite thank you when ringing up my purchases and a hearty come again as I left. They know how to treat people the right way.

This store carries a wide selection of tropical fish. They're prices are moderate, and the fish are usually healthy. I would like to say they should stay ONLY in the fish business. They also carry small animals and birds. These are kept in deplorable conditions and are not housed properly. The guinea pigs and rabbits are WAY overcrowded in small cages, and the turnover of these animals isn't fast enough to warrant having so many per cage. The birds are also overcrowded and both types of animals cages are continually dirty. I like the store just for fish stuff, but it makes me sick to see how they treat the other animals. I am giving them a poor rating for the small animal care, but would say a good rating for the fish.
