Habitat: SOUTH AMERICA: natural riverine habitat is Amazonia; most Neon Tetras are bred commercially
Min Tank Size: 10 gallons or larger for schools.
Diet: Omnivorous, feeds on plant matter, crustaceans, worms, small insects, will accept most flake foods, frozen and freeze-dried.
Behavior: Peaceful schooling fish, should be kept in groups of 6 or more.
Water: pH range 5.0 – 7.0, temp. (68 and 80° F), the softer the water the better.
Care: Easy to Medium, prone to Neon Tetra Dieases (NTD) caused by a sporozoan named Pleistophora hyphessobryconis
Communities: Good, keep in schools with other small fish
