Size: 12-14 + inches (30-35cm)
Habitat: SOUTH AMERICA: Pacific draining rivers and estuaries from Mexico to Peru.
Min Tank Size: 48 Inches minimum for young.
Diet: Omnivorous, will accept all types of prepared food. Sinking pellets, live insects, earthworms and small fish .

Water: Temperature of 75ºF to 80ºF (25-27°C) , pH range: 6.8 – 8.0; dH range: 8 - 30
Salinity: A 1% addition of salt is recommendedas these fish are found in brackish water. This can be accomplished by adding 7.5 TSP of sea salt/ 10 gallons (10g/10 L) on a hydrometer the reading should be between 1.005 to 1.010 specific gravity.
Care: Voracious appetite, territorial.
Communities: Best not kept with other plecs at all, larger but not aggressive mid to top swimming fish tank mates should be fine.
Suitability: Good for all with consideration for water requirements and size.
