Brown’s Betta

Size: Up to 2.5 inches (6.5 cm) usually smaller.
Habitat: ASIA: Sluggish waters of Indonesia and Malaysia.
Min Tank Size: 5 gallon for a single specimen. 10 gallons for a pair. 30 gallons or Larger for groups.
Note: Bettas are sold in small cups at the store, this is not the way to keep them. While they can survive for a time in a small space it is hardly ideal and borders on cruelty. They should be kept in an aquarium with filtration and heating just like any other tropical fish. Do not fall prey to the novelty aquariums sold to house these animals.
Diet: Carnivore, flake foods, frozen or live.
Behavior: Peaceful, males can be territorial and should not be combined unless in a large tank.
Water: PH: 3.5 to 6.0, Temperature 71° to 79°F (22 to 26°C), dH range: 1 – 5
Care: Difficult needs clean, well filtered soft acidic water.
Communities: Best in a species tank. May be kept with other peaceful community fish that will not nip fins.
Suitability: For the advanced requires specialized water conditions.
